Is Imlil worth staying overnight?

Yes, Imlil is worth an overnight if you enjoy mountains — staying lets you walk the valley in the golden light of early morning and evening, escape the day-trip crowds, and soak up the calm of a real Berber mountain village at 1,740 m. It’s also the natural base if you plan to trek higher or climb Toubkal.

Guesthouses and the famous Kasbah du Toubkal offer terraces with big mountain views, and an evening in Imlil is peaceful once the day visitors leave. You wake to walnut groves, terraced fields and the peaks above.

As a day trip from Marrakech, Imlil still gives you a lovely taste of the Atlas. But for walkers and anyone wanting the mountains at their quietest and most beautiful, a night here is a worthwhile addition.
