Privacy Policy
In short: we collect your details only when you send us an enquiry, we use them only to reply to you and plan your trip, we never sell them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
This policy explains how Morocco Day Tour ("we", "us") handles your personal information when you use morocco-day-tour.com. It was last updated on the date shown at the foot of this page.
Who we are
Morocco Day Tour is a travel agency based at Taouz, Merzouga 52202, Errachidia, Morocco. We are the data controller for the information described here.
You can reach us about anything in this policy by email at contact@morocco-day-tour.com, by phone on +212 615 217562, or by WhatsApp on the same number.
What we collect, and when
We only collect personal information when you choose to send it to us. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not buy data about you from anyone else.
When you send an enquiry
Our enquiry forms ask for the following. Only the first three are required:
- Your name — so we know who we are writing to.
- Your email address — so we can send you a reply, an itinerary and a price.
- Your message — what you tell us about the trip you want.
- Your phone or WhatsApp number (optional) — only if you would like us to reply that way.
- Your travel dates and group size (optional) — so we can check availability and quote accurately.
Along with your message, our system also records which page or tour you were looking at when you got in touch, so we know what you are asking about and can answer properly.
This information is sent to us by email. We do not run a database on this website, so nothing you submit is stored on the website itself.
When our spam check runs
Our enquiry forms carry Google reCAPTCHA — the "I'm not a robot" box — which stops automated software from flooding us with junk. It loads only on pages that have a form, and only once you reach that form.
To tell a person from a bot, Google receives your IP address and information about your browser, device and how you interact with the page, and it may read or set its own cookies for that purpose. Google states that this information is used to provide and improve reCAPTCHA and for general security, not for personalised advertising. What happens to it is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We only ever receive Google's yes-or-no answer about whether you appear to be human.
Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping our enquiry forms usable and free from abuse. If you would rather not use it, email or WhatsApp us directly on the details above — no form, and no reCAPTCHA, involved.
When you simply browse
If you only read the site and never send an enquiry, we do not collect any personal information about you. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or profiling of any kind.
Our web host keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and troubleshooting, as virtually all websites do. We do not use these to identify or track individual visitors.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use the information you send us to reply to your enquiry, prepare an itinerary and price, arrange and run your trip if you book, and keep in touch with you about that trip.
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies to you, our legal basis is:
- Steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and performance of that contract, when you ask us to plan or run a trip.
- Our legitimate interests in responding to messages sent to us and keeping records of what we agreed.
We do not send marketing newsletters. If we ever start, we will ask for your consent separately and you will be able to withdraw it at any time.
Who else sees it
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, ever.
We share it only where it is necessary to deliver your trip or run our business:
- Our email and hosting providers, who process messages and host this website on our behalf.
- Google, through the reCAPTCHA spam check on our forms, as described above. Google receives technical information about your visit to that page; it does not receive your name, message or any other answer you type in.
- Trip suppliers — such as a riad, hotel or desert camp — but only the details needed for your booking, and only once you have asked us to book.
- Authorities, if we are legally required to disclose something.
Because we are based in Morocco, information you send us is handled outside the UK and European Economic Area. We take care to keep it secure and to use it only as described here.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to answer you and, if you travel with us, for as long as needed for the booking and our accounting records. If your enquiry does not lead to a trip, we delete it once it is clearly no longer relevant. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- send you a portable copy of it.
Email contact@morocco-day-tour.com and we will deal with your request. There is no charge. If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with how we have handled things, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Cookies
This website uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep our enquiry forms secure, and no advertising or tracking cookies. Our Cookies Policy explains this in full.
Children
This website is intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you tell us about children travelling with you, we use those details only to arrange the trip. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
Our pages link to other sites, such as Tripadvisor, WhatsApp and Google Maps. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we suggest reading their policies before sharing information with them.
Security
We protect our enquiry forms against spam and cross-site request forgery with a session token, a hidden trap field for bots, and Google reCAPTCHA, and the site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date below. Please check back occasionally.
