Is it worth paying more for a rooftop room in Marrakech?
A rooftop room in Marrakech is worth the premium if you value light, views and terrace access, but be aware it can be hotter in summer, cooler in winter and closer to the dawn call to prayer and city sounds. The trade-off is atmosphere and outlook versus the insulated calm of a lower courtyard room.
Rooftop rooms often have the best natural light and direct access to the terrace where breakfast and sunset drinks happen, which many find magical. In peak summer, though, the top of the building bakes, so good air-conditioning becomes essential up there.
If you’re visiting in the milder months and love a view, splurge on the rooftop. In high summer, a shaded courtyard-level room may actually be more comfortable for sleeping.
