How much does a hammam cost for locals versus tourists?
A local public hammam costs very little — around 15–30 dirhams (€1.50–3) for entry, plus a few dirhams for a scrub by an attendant — whereas a tourist or spa hammam with a full treatment runs from about €25 up to €60 or more. The gap reflects the setting: a neighbourhood bathhouse versus a private spa with towels, robes and products included.
At a local hammam you bring your own kit and pay extras separately: maybe 50–100 dirhams total once you add a gommage scrub and soap. It’s the authentic, no-frills experience.
The spa version is more comfortable and hands-you-everything, which many visitors prefer for a first time. Neither is "the real one" — they’re just different tiers, and it’s worth trying a local hammam at least once for the price and the atmosphere.
