What's a fair price per person for a Sahara desert camp?

A fair price for one night at a Sahara desert camp is roughly €40–80 per person for a comfortable standard camp including the camel trek, dinner and breakfast, rising to €120–250+ per person for a luxury en-suite camp. Most people experience the camp as part of a multi-day tour from Marrakech or Fes, where it’s bundled into the overall price rather than paid separately.

What moves the price is the camp standard (shared vs private bathrooms, tent quality), whether it’s private or shared transport, and the season. A basic bivouac is a fraction of the cost of a designer camp with real beds and hot showers.

Because it’s usually sold within a tour, the clearest way to judge value is to ask exactly what’s included — vehicle, guide, meals, camp category — and compare like for like. Tell us your dates and standard and we’ll give you an honest per-person figure.
