Where can I exchange leftover dirhams at Marrakech airport?
At Marrakech Menara airport you can exchange leftover dirhams at the bank and bureau de change counters in the departures hall, ideally before you pass through security, as options shrink airside. Look for the exchange desks and the bank branch in the check-in area; some will want to see an original exchange or ATM receipt to convert dirhams back.
Rates at the airport are poorer than in the city, so it’s better to change most of your money at a bureau in town and only settle a small remainder here. Keep a little cash for a last coffee or tip before you leave.
If you’re short on time or the counter is closed, spend the notes in the airport shops and cafés instead, and simply keep any coins. Don’t rely on changing dirhams once you’ve landed back home, because banks abroad won’t take them.
