Can you buy sunscreen easily in Morocco?

Yes, you can buy sunscreen in Morocco at pharmacies, supermarkets and tourist shops in the cities, but it’s often more expensive than at home and choice can be limited, so many travellers bring their own high-factor supply. The sun is strong year-round, especially in the desert and at altitude, so you’ll want good protection.

Pharmacies stock reliable branded sun cream but at a premium, and in small villages or the desert it may not be available at all. Bringing a high-SPF sunscreen from home covers you from day one and saves money.

Whatever you use, reapply often in the desert and mountains where UV is intense, and add a hat and sunglasses. Buy a top-up locally if you run short in a city, but don’t rely on finding it off the beaten track.
