Fes Sightseeing guided Tour with local guide
Your 6-day trip from Fes to Marrakech through the Merzouga Sahara starts in Fes with a relaxing sightseeing tour — an air-conditioned car and a bilingual local guide, starting from your hotel or riad.
The tour includes the Andalusian Mosque, built in the late 9th century, and the tanners’ quarter, where leather is still dyed with natural colours. You also see the El-Attarine medersa, built in 1325, and the great Karaouine Mosque in the heart of the medina.
The Zaouia of Moulay Idriss (open to non-Muslims from the doorway), the Nejjarine Museum, the Royal Palace, and the Bab Boujloud gate complete the circuit of the city’s most significant monuments. Afterwards, we return you to your hotel or riad in Fes for dinner and the night.
Fes » Azrou (Cedar forest) » Midelt [205 km]
After breakfast, we leave Fes for Midelt. We pass through Ifrane, the fully Moroccan-Alpine resort the French built in 1930, then watch the monkeys in the Azrou cedar forest.
Most of the drive between Fes and Midelt runs through stunning forests, hot springs, and Berber villages. On the final stretch, we arrive in Midelt and check in at your hotel or riad for dinner and the night.
Midelt » Erfoud » Merzouga Sahara Desert [263 km]
After breakfast, we continue from Midelt towards the Merzouga desert and the Erg Chebbi dunes. Along the way, we make several stops for photos, the cool breeze, stunning views, and a massive paradise of palm trees.
We arrive in Merzouga and check into your hotel or riad for dinner and the night.
Merzouga explore desert tour and Camel trek [45 km]
The next day, we visit Khamlia village to listen to Gnawa music, then explore the abandoned mining sites and meet Berber nomads in a palm oasis.
We return to Merzouga for lunch and a rest. Later, you set off on a camel trek through the sand dunes to a camp alive with drum music. This Sahara trip is a photographer’s dream — capture both the sunset and the sunrise.
Tonight you peer into the mysteries of the Sahara and its vast horizons, sleeping in nomad Berber tents.
Merzouga » Ouarzazate [367 km]
Start your day early with an excursion over the dunes to enjoy the sunrise. Then ride your camel back to the hotel for breakfast, a shower, and a rest.
We take the road towards the gorges, stopping at Rissani to see the historic site of Sijilmassa — once the greatest trading city of the desert — and its fortified kasbahs. We continue along the Ziz Valley and its gorges, then walk through the Todra Gorge, enjoying the splendour of the mountains and the river.
Finally, we arrive in Ouarzazate for dinner and a night in a riad or traditional kasbah.
Ouarzazate » Ait Benhaddou » High Atlas » Marrakech [196 km]
After breakfast, we explore Ouarzazate: the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas film studios.
From here, we drive to the Fint Oasis near Ouarzazate, then take the Tizi n’Tichka road with a stop for lunch. We arrive in Marrakech late in the afternoon, where your six-day journey from Fes across the Sahara ends.
