3 Days Fes to Marrakech Desert trip, Camel Trekking & night at Berber camp
Overview:
Join us for our three-day Fes and Marrakech desert tour, which combines Fes and Marrakech through Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). This tour offers a chance to enjoy views of the Atlas Mountains, Berber villages, and Valleys, as well as ride a Camel and stay overnight at a Sahara desert camp.
At Morocco Day Tour, we cater to all preferences and budgets with our range of private, standard, and luxurious tours. Whether you’re looking for a quick 3-day tour or a more leisurely experience, starting from Fes to Marrakech, we have the perfect option for you.
We also offer three-day shared desert tours from Fes to Marrakech via the Sahara Desert in Morocco for small tour groups, but please be aware that you’ll only share the transportation. Contact us anytime if you’re interested in a three-day trip from Fes to Marrakech via Desert Private or Shared.
The cost of the three-day Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour depends on the number of passengers, the type of accommodation (Standard or Luxury, the Medium option (Mixed)), and the time of year.
In our opinion, a 3-Day Fes from Marrakech Desert Tour is the best way to use this Sahara desert tour starting from Fes to Marrakech rather than traveling through the stunning, magnificent, amazing, and magical Morocco.
Our driver will collect you at your hotel or riad to begin your 3-day Fes tour. Marrakech Desert Tour then drives south to Ifrane and Azrou via the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Along the way, we’ll stop in the cedar forests to view and observe the Barbarian Apes in their natural habitat. While traveling along the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass to Midelt and then along the stunning Ziz Gorges, carved into volcanic rock, there are stunning views across the Middle-Atlas plateau. The scenery changes to reveal glimpses of the desert when you get closer to Errachidia.
After lunch, we’ll continue our trip along the Ziz Valley, which will take us to Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. After a cup or two of mint tea, we’ll take off our bags in a secure room and take the camel for a ride to the Berber camp in central Erg Chebbi Sad Dunes, the highest in North Africa. The journey by camel takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from the camp, where we’ll set up Berber tents for our night our night’s stay in the desert.
The tents are furnished with mattresses, covers, and pillows. After dinner, we’ll enjoy a fire in the evening and listen to the sounds of traditional Berber drums beneath the stars. That’s the end of the first day of our Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour.
We will witness a stunning sunrise across the dunes and sea. After breakfast, a tasty meal followed by a warm shower at the camp, we’ll return to Merzouga with camels, or 4WD, if that is what you want to do.
After that, we’ll depart from the Sahara desert and head towards Tinghir, “the city of the mountain,” in Tamazight, another stunning Berber village. We will be amazed by the striking beauty of the palm tree contrast and the unique colors of their homes. The route is where the landscape displays its contrasts.
Our next stop is the canyons of Todra, with rock walls towering over 200m. After exploring this natural wonder, we’ll head to Dades Valley, a Berber village renowned for its gorges with high walls and its stunning views of the Atlas and the Horizon. The second evening of the Fes in Marrakech desert tour will be spent in a riad, adding a touch of elegance to your experience.
On the final day of our three-day Fes in the direction of the Marrakech Desert tour, we’ll cross both the Valley of the Dades and the Valley of the Roses until reaching Ouarzazate in which we will go to Ouarzazate, where we will visit the Kasbah located in Taourirt.
After approximately 25 kilometers of road, we’ll come across Ait Ben Haddou’s Kasbah, located in Ait Ben Haddou, declared World Heritage by UNESCO and famous as the setting for film and cinematographic blockbusters such as Lawrence of Arabia, the Oscar-winning Lawrence of Arabia, The Protective Sky, and Babel.
We’ll follow the road traversing the Tizi N-Tichka pass, and then the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas mountains will bring us to Marrakech, the “Red City.” From here, you can leave your guide.

This was the most amazing thing that happened! Ibrahim, our driver, and Yakoube, our guide, were incredibly cordial and courteous. We saw and did so much and learned a lot about Morocco and Berber culture.
The accommodation and food were also excellent. If at all possible, plan this excursion into your vacation.
We were blown away by the quality of the Morocco Day Tour trip and had the time of our lives!! Our guide, Yakoube, and driver, Ibrahim, were terrific hosts and showed us the very best of Morocco. It felt like another universe, and we will never forget our time in the desert.
Unforgettable three-day trip from Fez to Merzouga and Marrakech
My sister and I took the 3-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour, which was hands down the best part of our stay in Morocco.
Said, our point of contact, was always just a message away, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable trip. And Ali, our driver, was not just a guide but a friend, sharing his experiences and stories, making us feel truly connected to the desert life.
The hotels were of exceptional quality, and the tent set-up in the desert was beyond our expectations. I highly recommend a trip with the Morocco Day Tour.
