Do Moroccan restaurants serve dinner before 8pm?

Yes, most Moroccan restaurants, especially those used to tourists, serve dinner from around 7pm, though locals tend to eat later, from 8:30pm onwards. You won’t struggle to eat early in tourist areas, but a place aimed at locals may feel quiet or still be gearing up before 8.

Riads often serve set dinners to guests at a time you arrange, which is handy if you want to eat earlier after a long day. Cafés and grill stalls serve food throughout the evening with no fixed dinner hour.

During Ramadan the rhythm changes completely, with eating starting at sunset (iftar) and continuing late into the night. Outside Ramadan, aim for 7–8pm in tourist spots and you’ll have plenty of choice.
