Are luxury desert camps in Morocco worth the extra cost?

Whether luxury desert camps are worth it depends on you: they’re genuinely worth the extra cost if you value a private en-suite bathroom, a real bed, hot showers and refined dinners, but a good standard camp still delivers the core magic of the dunes, camel trek and star-filled sky for much less. The scenery and experience are the same; the comfort differs.

Luxury camps typically add proper beds and bedding, private flushing toilets and showers, better food and more space and privacy, which matters a lot to some travellers and little to others. Standard camps usually have shared bathrooms and simpler tents but are perfectly comfortable and clean.

If a comfortable night’s sleep and a private bathroom will make or break the trip for you, pay up. If you’re happy roughing it a little for one night to save money, a standard camp is excellent value. We can price both so you can choose.
