Can you find pork anywhere in Morocco?

Pork is very rare in Morocco because it’s a Muslim country, but you can occasionally find it in a few international supermarkets (in a separate section) and at some restaurants aimed at non-Muslims or in tourist resorts. For all practical purposes, assume pork isn’t available and isn’t on menus.

The upside for travellers who avoid pork for dietary or religious reasons is that Moroccan food is essentially pork-free by default, using lamb, beef, chicken and fish instead. "Beef bacon" or turkey substitutes sometimes appear at breakfast.

If pork is something you specifically want, a large Carrefour or a specialist deli in a big city is your only realistic option, and even then it’s limited. Elsewhere, expect none, and enjoy the excellent lamb and chicken dishes instead.
