Is a desert camp suitable for a 6 year old?
Yes, a desert camp can be a wonderful experience for a 6-year-old — kids often love the sand, the camels, the campfire and sleeping under the stars — provided you manage the long drive and the temperatures. The camp itself is very child-friendly; the journey there is the demanding part.
Break up the long transfer from Marrakech with stops, bring snacks and entertainment for the car, and choose a comfortable camp (ideally with private facilities). Pack warm layers for cold nights and sun protection for hot days, and keep the camel ride short.
A 4-day tour with an overnight or two in the desert generally works better for young children than a rushed shorter version. Tell us the ages and we’ll pace the route so it’s an adventure rather than an ordeal.
