Program Itinerary of the 4 Days Desert Tour from Fes

Day 1: Fes » Azrou (Cedar forest) » Midelt » Erfoud » Merzouga [467 Km]

Our driver will collect you at your accommodation or Riad and begin your Fes to Desert tour. For 4 days and 3 nights, you will drive south to Azrou by Ifrane (the tiny Switzerland in Morocco) and finally towards Midelt in the Middle Atlas mountains. Stopping by the cedar forest, you can take amazing photos with Barbarian Apes before you continue to drive to Midelt and the Atlas Mountains, enjoying the landscapes of Midelt.

After lunch, we’ll continue our travels along the Ziz Valley towards Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. Arriving at the destination, we’ll be greeted with tea and a drink. We will then spend the night at the Riad Hotel.

Day 2: Explore Merzouga area & Camel Trek (Night in Desert Camp) [45 km]

Breakfast is served, and we’ll start exploring the area. We’ll visit the town of blacks who came from Mali to listen to their music and learn how they live.

Our adventure continues as we drive through the Miffis Mines, a fascinating area where we’ll get a firsthand look at their operations. We’ll then descend behind the Dunes, entering a vibrant desert landscape with breathtaking views. A serene tea break with local Bedouins awaits, before we return to the hotel.

After a break, your local guides will instruct you on the proper way to mount or unmount and provide other helpful safety guidelines before you start to explore the mysterious sea of sand in the Erg-Chebbi. Stay the night in the comfort of a Berber tent.

Day 3: Merzouga » Ziz Vally » Todra Gorges & Dades Valley [255 km]

The group will get an early start in the morning to catch the most stunning sunrise of your lifetime, casting various shadows and shades over the vast expanse of Sand dunes, the largest in Morocco. After breakfast, we will return to our hotel in the desert. We will then continue on to Tinghir and the magnificent Todra Gorge, the highest and narrowest of gorges in Morocco.

The gorge is a wonderful location for hiking, taking a break near the river, or trying some of the local Berber delights. After lunch at the bottom of the valley, we’ll travel to the Dades Valley, where we will finish our day by spending the night at a lovely hotel situated on a summit in the mountains.

Day 4: Dades Valley » Ziz Valley » Midelt » Fes [472 Km]

After the delicious continental breakfast in the local area, we pack and set off on your four-day Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga and back to Fes. From Todgha Gorge, we travel through palm groves and then follow an easy path through Ziz Valley, where we will stop at a vantage point for tea and take in the scenery before us.

As we travel north to Midelt, the mountains surround us. There are nomadic communities in the fields, dotted with goat-hair tents. Following lunch, we begin our four-day trip across and through the Middle Atlas Mountains and forests, where you can stop to feed the sly barbary monkeys under the cedar forests. We’ll also stop for coffee in the alpine town of Ifrane.

At the end of the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Fes, where we’ll say goodbye.

Reviews about our 4-Day Desert Tour From Fes to Merzouga

Fantastic journey from Fes to Marrakesh

My boyfriend and I took the 4 days trip from Fes to Marrakesh. Though we had reserved a group trip, our wonderful guide and driver were with us alone the whole time.

The journey was fabulous, the scenery magnificent, and the activities superb. Hassan served as both our driver and guide. He was really good, friendly, and knowledgeable.

I am really grateful to Said and Mohamed for those priceless experiences!

Fantastic 4-day journey from Fez to Merzouga

My sister and I did the 4-day desert tour from Fes Merzouga to Marrakech. Without a doubt, this was the highlight of our trip to Morocco.

Said was very responsive during our trip’s run-up, and Ali, our driver, was excellent. He gave a lot of information about life in the desert and was quite kind and adaptable.

The tent setup in the desert was amazing, and the hotels were all excellent. I would recommend a trip with the Morocco Day Tour.
