Overview
This 3-day trip from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert (Erg Chebbi) gives you the rare feeling of living in complete isolation. You’ll discover how nomads live, climb onto their preferred mode of transport — the camel — and ride it to a traditional Sahara desert camp, where you spend the night.
At Morocco Day Tour, we offer private standard, basic, and luxury (deluxe) tours from Marrakech to the Merzouga Sahara for three days and more. We also run a three-day shared version on a Morocco small-group tour — note that you share only the transportation.
The cost depends on the number of travelers, the type of accommodation (standard, luxury, or the mixed medium option), and the time of year. Contact us at any time.

Program Itinerary of the Marrakech Desert Tour 3 Days
Marrakech » Ait Ben Haddou » Ouarzazate » Dades Valley [315 Km]
We cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains, with several stops scheduled along the way. You visit the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the most famous ksar in the Ounila Valley.
It has served as a location for several Hollywood blockbusters, including Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Jewel of the Nile (1985), Gladiator, and Game of Thrones.
In 1987, UNESCO added the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou to its World Heritage list for its unique history and stunning beauty.
We continue our desert tour towards Ouarzazate, including a visit to the world-renowned Kasbah Taourirt, before a delicious lunch at leisure.
After lunch, we head through Boumalne Dades, a small town in Tinghir Province, via the Valley of the Roses, before arriving at our riad in the heart of the Dades Valley. You’ll have dinner and spend the night in a room chosen to suit you.
Dades » Todra Gorges » Merzouga (Night in Desert Camp) [255 km]
Today, after breakfast and a shower at the hotel or riad, we continue towards the Todra Gorge — the most awe-inspiring canyon in Morocco and a favourite escape for climbers — with its river, palm trees, and fields of wheat.
From there, we pass old kasbahs and the Berber Bedouin villages of southern Morocco on the way to Erfoud, and finally reach Merzouga, where our camels are waiting to carry you across the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.
A delicious dinner and your bed in a Berber tent await at the desert camp — one of the most picturesque places anywhere to take in the sunrise, the sunset, and the starry sky.
Merzouga » N'kob » Agdz » High Atlas Mountains » Marrakech [562 Km]
Get up early to watch the sunrise. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, ride your camel back to the starting point — or let us transfer you by 4×4 instead.
We then leave the Merzouga Sahara and return to Marrakech by a different route, heading for Ouarzazate via Rissani, Alnif, Tazarine, N’kob, and Agdz in the Draa Valley, with a lunch stop along the way. We continue to Marrakech through the High Atlas — the end of your three-day trip from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert.

Reviews about our 3 days desert tour Marrakech to Merzouga
100% Suggested My flights were scheduled two days in advance, and I appreciate that Mohamed got back to me and tailored a schedule that included everything I wanted to see and do in Morocco! Morocco has captured my heart, and I will return for further tours! Mohamed became my part-time photographer in addition to being an excellent driver! His service had a significant positive impact on my experience. What occurs when you travel alone. I only have wonderful things to say and have made some really special memories. Gratitude for everything, Morocco Day Tour.
