Your overnight desert excursion begins at your accommodation in Marrakech. On the way, we stop as often as time allows to admire the stunning panoramas of North Africa’s finest mountain range: the High Atlas.
Reaching Ouarzazate, the “Gate of the Sahara”, we stop at the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah — an outstanding example of southern Moroccan architecture.
We continue towards Merzouga via Skoura, an ancient fertile oasis surrounded by huge palm groves in the Draa-Tafilalet region, and take in the magnificent Dades River and its splendid canyons.
The next stop is Rissani, home to the biggest market in the area, before we reach the Merzouga desert itself. Camels wait for you at the edge of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. A pause among the dunes gives you stunning sunset photos and a chance to try sandboarding. Then dinner, Berber drummers around the fire pit, and a dream of a night in a Berber-style tent — your oasis in the Sahara.

We get up early for one of the most breathtaking sights you can capture: dawn over the dunes. After a wonderful morning and a typical breakfast at our camp, we ride the camels back to the starting point, swap them for the vehicle, and continue towards Fes through Erfoud — a town rich in fossils and stone carving.
Along the way, we pass the Ziz Valley and its palms, Errachidia, and Midelt, and stop in the cedar forest to meet the famous wild monkeys.
We arrive in Fes in the afternoon and drop you at your hotel, riad, or the nearest convenient spot — the end of your overnight Marrakech-to-Fes desert tour.
