Program Itinerary of the Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour
Marrakech » Merzouga Sahara (Camel Trek & Night In desert) [560 km]
Your 2-day desert tour begins at your hotel or riad in Marrakech, heading for the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga.
We cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass, with long views over the mountains and the traditional High Atlas Berber villages. Then we continue towards the Merzouga Sahara via Tinjdad, Jerf, and Erfoud, where the Tafilalet oasis begins — about 35 km from the Erg Chebbi dunes.
In Merzouga, camels wait for you at the edge of the dunes to carry you deep into the sand sea, where the silence is absolute.
It’s a perfect chance to capture beautiful sunset photos and try sandboarding, followed by an excellent meal. You spend the night at the Merzouga camp — a nomad Berber camp — with drum music in the middle of the Sahara, under the stars.
Merzouga Desert » Rissani » Atlas Mountains » Marrakech [561 km]
After sunrise in the desert, you head back to Merzouga by camel — or by 4×4 if you prefer. After breakfast and a shower at the hotel, we set off back to Marrakech through the Berber villages of the Atlas mountains (N’kob, Agdz, and more). We arrive in Marrakech, where your 2-day desert trip ends.
