12 Days Tour from Casablanca

Welcome to Morocco! When you arrive at Casablanca’s Mohammed V airport, we welcome you and take you to your hotel. Your tour representative then walks you through your itinerary.

After the day’s travel, you head to Rabat for a comfortable, relaxing night in a riad or hotel, with a delicious dinner included.

We leave for Fes through beautiful farmland where olives, grains, vegetables, and grapes grow.

You first visit Meknes and then Volubilis, home of the famous Roman ruins of the empire’s southernmost outpost. Meknes was the seat of Moulay Ismail, founder of the ruling Alaouite dynasty. Here you’ll see the Medersa Bou Inania and the Bab Mansour — the gateway to Moulay Ismail’s palace.

You’ll also see the Heri es-Souani, the royal stables and granaries; the rooftop café and garden upstairs give you a beautiful view of the city. When you arrive in Fes, check into your hotel.

After breakfast, a local guide takes you into the oldest living medina in the world.

Your tour covers the medina and its souks, the 9th-century Karaouine Mosque and its university, and the tomb of Moulay Idriss II, the city’s founder.

You have lunch at a traditional restaurant in the old medina, then continue to the Nejjarine Fountain and the Batha Museum. On the way back to your hotel, enjoy a panoramic view over the city.

We leave your riad or hotel around 8 am for a day trip to Chefchaouen, a welcoming town in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco, just south of the Mediterranean coast.

The blue city is famous for its beautiful traditional architecture. Explore the medina’s blue-and-white-washed walls and markets, full of unique local handicrafts — and if you love photography, the views over the Rif Mountains are a gift. In the afternoon, we drive you comfortably back to Fes, arriving around 7 pm.

After breakfast, we set off for Merzouga, crossing the Atlas Mountains — a great chance to capture the beauty of Morocco’s wild landscapes. We have lunch in the small Berber village of Zaida.

The journey continues through the mountains and the scenic country around Midelt. Passing the small town of Rich and then Erfoud, you feel the start of the Tafilalet oasis. The day ends with a relaxing night at a comfortable hotel close to the sand dunes.

You visit the village of Khamlia to hear its music and learn about its culture.

Nearby Merzouga Lake is home to many birds, including flamingos. You can also visit the Berber nomads’ warehouse, where handicrafts often cost less than in the cities.

In the afternoon, get ready for adventure: a camel guide leads you into the mysterious Erg Chebbi sand sea. Choose to spend the night in a tent or under the open stars — dinner and breakfast are served at your camp.

Early in the morning, watch the sunrise as the colours of the dunes and their shadows create an amazing sight.

You have breakfast at the kasbah and a shower before leaving for the fortified village of Rissani, in the Tafilalt region.

Rissani, a traditional desert village on the edge of the Ziz Valley, holds the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Sherif, the first ruler of the Alaouite dynasty, which rose here in the 17th century.

You travel through the Todra Gorges, along the eastern slopes of the Atlas Mountains, to the Tinerhir oasis with its green valley of palms and villages. Then enjoy a scenic drive through the Dades Valley, known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, where you spend the night.

After breakfast, we depart for Ouarzazate via Skoura. We stop for a panoramic view of the Taourirt Kasbah, then continue to the Atlas film studios.

You then visit the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou and have lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, we drive through the High Atlas Mountains over the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m) and drop you off in Marrakech.

Spend a full day in Marrakech, starting with the Menara — a pool surrounded by gardens that once served as an irrigation system for the surrounding fields.

Your tour includes the Koutoubia Mosque, the Majorelle Gardens, the Bahia Palace, and the jewelry museum at the Dar Si Said Palace. Have lunch in the medina, then stroll through the souks.

Enjoy a sunset drink on a terrace overlooking Jemaa el Fna square, followed by dinner and a night at your hotel.

Take a day trip from Marrakech to the Ouzoud Waterfalls, 170 km northeast of the city. The falls drop a spectacular 110 m through a landscape alive with birds and monkeys.

If you like, you can hire a guide for a hike at 1,068 m and explore the area on foot.

After breakfast, you depart for Essaouira, a picturesque fishing town on the southwest coast.

Thanks to the beautiful beach to its south, Essaouira is one of Morocco’s favourite coastal towns — and home to many of the country’s woodcarvers, artists, and artisans.

Your 12-day tour ends here. We transfer you from Essaouira to your airport in Marrakech or Casablanca.
