Haggling & shopping
Can you ship argan oil home from Morocco?
Yes, you can ship argan oil home from Morocco, and cooperatives and larger shops will often arrange postage for you, but for small amounts it’s usually easier and cheaper to carry it in your checked luggage. Culinary and cosmetic argan oil are permitted imports for personal use in most countries, so a few bottles for yourself are rarely a problem.
If you fly with it, remember liquids over 100 ml must go in checked baggage, and wrap bottles well or buy sealed ones to avoid leaks. Buying from a women’s cooperative gives you better quality and supports the producers directly.
For larger or commercial quantities, shipping via the cooperative or a courier makes sense, and you should check your home country’s rules on importing food-grade oils. Keep receipts in case customs ask about value.
