Can you extend a Moroccan tourist visa inside the country?

Most visitors enter Morocco visa-free for 90 days, and extending that stay inside the country is difficult and bureaucratic — the official route is to apply to the local police (Sûreté Nationale) before your 90 days expire, but approvals are slow and not guaranteed. In practice, many travellers instead do a "visa run" by leaving and re-entering.

A common approach is to hop across to Spain (for example via the Ceuta or Melilla land borders, or a ferry) and return, which resets your stay, though this is a grey area and not officially an entitlement. Frequent back-to-back resets can attract scrutiny.

If you genuinely need longer, start the extension paperwork early with the local authorities, or look into the correct long-stay/residence process. Don’t simply overstay, as that creates problems when you leave.
