Is air quality bad in Casablanca?

Casablanca’s air quality is mediocre by big-city standards — as Morocco’s largest industrial and commercial hub, it has traffic and industry that push pollution higher than the smaller tourist cities, but it’s not dangerously bad for a short visit. Most travellers won’t be affected beyond noticing typical big-city fumes on busy roads.

If you’re sensitive, asthmatic or have a respiratory condition, you may feel the traffic pollution more, particularly at rush hour on major routes. The seafront Corniche and coastal breeze offer fresher air.

For a day or two of sightseeing it’s not a real concern for most people. The medinas and coastal areas are pleasanter than the traffic arteries if air quality bothers you.
