The 4-Day Desert Tour Marrakech to Fes is perfect for any desert walker enthusiastic about making the best desert in the North African country.
Our Morocco tour from Marrakech to Fes provides many exploration opportunities in the High Atlas Mountains, Berber villages, Skoura Palm Groves, and the Sahara Desert area.
Travelers can explore Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, where several Hollywood films were shot. Take a Camel hike through the Sahara Desert, Sip Tea with a Berber Family, and enjoy The High Atlas Mountains. The tour will give you an insider’s look at the country in the Moroccan Odyssey.
Our driver/guide will collect you from the hotel you are staying at in Marrakech and begin the four-day desert excursion from Marrakech until Fes.
The journey towards the Kasbah in Ait Benhaddou (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987) crosses the mountains of the high Atlas, traversing the Tizi N’tichka Pass, which is at an altitude of 2260m. Visit the famous construction located in Morocco and take a break for lunch at the local restaurant.
After lunch, we’ll travel through Ouarzazate, the city. We’ll visit the Atlas film studios for a shot and then continue to the town’s center to enjoy a stunning panorama of the Kasbah in Taourirt, a historical fortified residence.
You’ll then travel to Kalaa M’gouna and Boumalne Dades to spend the night: dinner and the night stay in the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will head toward Tinghir, taking in Boumalne du Dades and stopping to enjoy a stunning view of Dades Valley. Then, we’ll proceed to Todra Gorges through Imider along with Tinghir.
On the way, you will make several stops to take photos while enjoying the view. You will arrive in Todra Gorges and take in the breathtaking Canyon scenery while walking through its narrow valleys.
In the afternoon, we head to Tinjdad and stop for lunch before heading to Erfoud, which is famous for its fossil-based manufacturers. Following that, we travel to the stunning Dunes at Erg Chebbi, also known as Merzouga Dunes.
Get to the dunes’ edge and prepare for a camel ride for an hour and a half to take in the stunning sunset, which will be accompanied by laughter and excitement.
When you are sitting on the back of your dromedary, with just the sound of the footprints of the camels in the sand, you will make your way to the camp to stay overnight in the traditional nomad tent.
Delicious dinner and entertainment around the campfire (Berber Drums) before staying the night in a fully-equipped camp for desert camping with all the facilities in the desert.
This is the third day of our four-day desert tour from Marrakech through Fes. It is a stunning morning in the Sahara desert and a breathtaking sunrise, as you’re in a borderless area. It is worth waking up early to see the most stunning sunrise you’ve ever witnessed from the top of a dune close to the camp. Enjoy the unique landscape.
A delicious breakfast is ready for you. Take a shower before riding your camels to Merzouga.
Then, we’ll go through the Erg Chebbi and its tinny villages, a fantastic extension of a sand desert home to the Big Dune of Morocco. Then we continue transporting Dakar-Paris “Paris—Dakar” and finish in the black desert.
The next stop is a viewpoint where we can look over the hole Erg Chebbi dug. Then we’ll arrive at Kamilia Village. Most of the inhabitants are of dark skin and originated from Mali in the Mali region. Here, we’ll have an energizing tea while we listen to a live performance of local music from Gnawa.
Make a stop at Mefis, an abandoned village still in the region. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to see the lead mines and other minerals that date back to the French colonial period. We travel on to Mefis via a road that leads us to meet a nomad family who lives in tents and discover their practices and secrets.
Transfer to your hotel. You will have some free time to explore the city or the dunes next to the hotel for a spectacular sunset. Dinner and a night in the hotel.
Following breakfast, we begin the final day of our Desert tour from Marrakech to Fes in the north. We travel through Tafilalet, the largest palm grove in the country.
Hundreds of palm trees line the 20-km road. The route leads towards the Ziz Valley, where water runs through the palm grove. We stop here and, from the top of the hill, take in the magnificent view of the valley and the Aoufous town.
The day will end with a stop in Midelt City, in the middle of the Atlas, where you can have some free time for lunch and rest for a bit. In the afternoon, we journey to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, and if we are lucky, we may spot some Barbary Apes next to the road.
We’ll visit Ifrane, the capital city, in the following location: Ifrane is located on the northwestern slope of the Middle Atlas at 1630 meters above sea level. Its vast avenues, urbanization with a high standard of cleanliness, grassy areas, greenery, and architectural style make the city appear like a Swiss town.
Ifrane feels lost, which is a bit lost in Morocco. It’s why it’s called “Moroccan Switzerland,” and if that’s still not enough, it also has a significant skiing resort (Michlifen). At 6 pm, we will get to Fes, transfer you to your hotel, and conclude our service. (4-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes)

Fantastic 4-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, Fez
We spent four great days seeing everything, resting in good hotels, and eating well. Despite the distance, the trip was enjoyable thanks to the driver (who was always safe) and the guide (Omar), who always watched us.
It is recommended; it is an excellent experience in Merzouga!
4-day trip to Marrakech and Fes—a fantastic experience
We did the 4-day Marrakech-Merzouga-Fez excursion, and it exceeded our expectations. The guides were lovely, and wherever we went, they treated us well.
The very responsible driver has taken us insurance at another time. We have excellent hotels, cuisine, and service.
In addition, we have visited more things than planned, and it has been a great few days without getting bored and going in a hurry. I have no complaints. I recommend it
